American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) announced today that it has entered into a new codeshare partnership with Toronto‑based Porter Airlines, effective immediately. The agreement allows passengers to book codeshare itineraries on aa.com, the American mobile app, and flyporter.com, and it places Porter’s airline code on select American transborder and domestic flights.
The partnership expands American’s reach into Canada and Porter’s into the United States. Porter will place its code on flights to and from American hubs at Charlotte (CLT), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Dallas‑Fort Worth (DFW), and Philadelphia (PHL), with additional destinations such as Honolulu (HNL), Nashville (BNA), New Orleans (MSY), Portland (PDX), Sacramento (SMF), Salt Lake City (SLC), and San Jose (SJC) slated for future rollout. AAdvantage members booking Porter flights will earn both miles and loyalty points, creating a seamless loyalty experience across both carriers.
Strategically, the codeshare provides a competitive alternative for travelers between the U.S. and Canada, enhancing connectivity and offering more routing options.
