Archer Aviation announced today that its partner Soracle, a joint venture between Japan Airlines and Sumitomo, has been named to lead the establishment of air taxi services in Osaka Prefecture. The partnership will deploy Archer’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft as the core fleet for the new service.
The agreement includes collaboration with local governments to create a regulatory and operational framework for quiet, sustainable flights across the Kansai region, making Archer the only U.S. eVTOL manufacturer positioned to play a key role in Osaka’s urban air mobility ecosystem.
This new customer win expands Archer’s commercial reach into the Japanese market, provides a significant revenue opportunity, and strengthens its strategic positioning as a global eVTOL provider.
