AECOM announced today its selection by the Regional Municipality of Durham to provide engineering services for upgrades to the Port Darlington Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) in Ontario, Canada. The plant services approximately 50,000 residents in Bowmanville. The four-year contract includes two upgrade projects: replacing the existing Waste Gas Burner with an enclosed flame WGB and upgrading Plant 1 liquid treatment systems, the SCADA system, and other vital clean-up work. AECOM's team will complete all SCADA and PLC programming in-house. These upgrades are planned to enhance the plant's performance and reliability, considering environmental sustainability and reducing energy waste. This project is critical for bolstering the resilience of wastewater infrastructure to meet the demands of a growing population.
