On October 21, 2025, Analog Devices, Inc. and ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. announced a strategic collaboration by signing a binding Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement states that ASE will purchase 100% of the equity of Analog Devices Sdn. Bhd., the company’s Penang, Malaysia manufacturing facility, and will enter into a long‑term supply agreement to provide manufacturing services for Analog Devices’ products. The Penang facility occupies more than 680,000 square feet and is located in the Bayan Lepas industrial hub. ASE plans to co‑invest with Analog Devices to upskill the workforce and expand the site’s capacity. Definitive agreements are expected to be executed in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the transaction projected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. This acquisition expands ASE’s global network of IC packaging and testing operations, giving Analog Devices greater operational flexibility and supply‑chain resilience for its high‑performance analog, mixed‑signal, and digital signal‑processing chips. The partnership is positioned to support Analog Devices’ strategy of maintaining a hybrid manufacturing model and to strengthen its ability to meet increasing customer demand for complex, high‑performance semiconductor solutions.
