Adtran Holdings, Inc. announced on October 23, 2025 that its Oscilloquartz timing platform now supports Galileo’s Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA). The feature is delivered via a firmware update to the company’s multi‑band GNSS receivers, including the OSA 5412, OSA 5422, OSA 5430 and OSA 5440 product lines.

This marks the first time a timing‑industry vendor has added OSNMA support, enabling customers to verify that timing data originates from authentic Galileo satellites. The authentication uses digital signatures and TESLA chain keys, providing a layer of protection against spoofing, manipulation and meaconing attacks without requiring new hardware or service disruption.

By integrating OSNMA, Adtran’s Oscilloquartz solutions strengthen security for critical infrastructure such as 5G networks, smart grids, financial systems and data centers. The update allows existing deployments to enhance timing integrity through a simple firmware upgrade, positioning Adtran as a leader in GNSS security for the growing demand for authenticated satellite synchronization.
