Corero Network Security announced on July 10, 2025, that the orchestration plane of its SmartWall ONE™ solution is now deployable in Akamai Compute, Akamai Technologies' edge-native cloud computing platform. This development provides customers with increased flexibility and agility in managing their distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection infrastructure, while maintaining the precision and speed of Corero's automatic mitigation.
This capability eliminates the need for on-premises infrastructure for the full control plane, allowing deployments to be completed in hours instead of weeks. This accelerates time to protection and has the potential to increase deal velocity by removing traditional infrastructure bottlenecks. Customers gain cloud-native benefits such as elastic resource allocation, built-in high availability, and geographic redundancy.
The launch deepens Corero's strategic relationship with Akamai, building on existing joint offerings like Akamai Prolexic On-Prem DDoS Protection. By enabling orchestration in Akamai Compute, both companies gain a more streamlined go-to-market path that supports enterprise cloud strategies and expands customer access to advanced DDoS protection.
