On 15 October 2025 at 08:00 ET, Allegion’s brand Zentra announced the first resident key capability in Google Wallet, allowing residents to unlock building doors, amenity spaces, and individual units with a tap of an Android phone or Wear OS smartwatch. The launch expands Allegion’s electronic access portfolio by integrating NFC credentials into Google Wallet and extending the reach of its Schlage product line. The new solution is available on the award‑winning Schlage XE360 series, Schlage Control Smart Lock, Schlage NDE Mobile‑Enabled Wireless Cylindrical Lock, Schlage MTB Mobile‑Enabled Multi‑Technology Reader, and Schlage RC Reader Controller. By eliminating the need for physical keys or fobs, property managers can reduce operational costs and increase net operating income, while residents enjoy a seamless, contact‑less access experience. Allegion executives highlighted the strategic importance of the launch. Mark Vigren, vice president of Sales & Field Marketing, said the feature “redefines access control for multifamily communities.” John Goodwin, vice president of Multi‑Family Access, added that the capability “supports property managers in creating a truly premium living experience.” The move positions Allegion to capture growing demand for mobile credential solutions in the residential market, potentially driving higher‑margin hardware sales and recurring software revenue.
