Gauzy Ltd. announced on January 30, 2025, that its strategic partnership with Ambarella, Inc. has led to breakthroughs in AI-powered advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Gauzy's AI-powered Smart-Vision camera monitor system (CMS), which incorporates Ambarella’s CV2FS AI system-on-chip (SoC), is now operational in Ford Trucks. This deployment enhances road safety for commercial vehicle drivers.
The Smart-Vision CMS replaces traditional side and rearview mirrors with high-resolution cameras, providing drivers with a wider view and significantly reducing blind spots. The system, based on Ambarella’s CVflow AI accelerator, features self-learning and predictive capabilities, including adaptive maneuver lines and automatic detection of potential road hazards. This technology aims to reduce accidents and fatalities.
Ambarella’s CVflow AI SoCs provide industry-leading AI performance per watt, enabling high-performance image processing for low latency, vulnerable road user detection, object classification, and video streaming. The Smart-Vision CMS has passed strict safety homologations and certifications, including UN R46, UN R10, UN R118, UN R151, UN R155, and UN R156. This collaboration underscores the growing adoption of AI in commercial vehicle safety.
