Ardagh Metal Packaging (AMP) published its 2024 Sustainability Roadmap on November 13, 2024, detailing its progress and plans across Emissions, Ecology, and Social pillars. The report highlighted that AMP reduced its absolute Scope 3 emissions below its stated 2030 target level in 2023, despite significant business volume growth. This achievement is attributed to collaboration with suppliers and increased recycled content.
The roadmap also confirmed that AMP met its 2030 VOC intensity target in 2023 through investments in clean technologies and materials. The company is actively increasing investments in renewable electricity, with successful programs in 2024 including a solar energy agreement in Germany and a virtual Power Purchase Agreement with BNZ in Portugal, scheduled to go live in 2026. These initiatives are crucial steps towards its goal of 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and a 42% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions from a 2020 baseline.
AMP received high recognition for its sustainability performance, earning Leadership Class ratings from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) with an A- for climate change and an A for supplier engagement. EcoVadis awarded Ardagh a Gold rating in 2024, placing it in the top 5% of evaluated companies. These external validations underscore the company's commitment to its sustainability strategy and its position as a leader in the industry.
