Amcor plc announced on October 9, 2025 that Stephen R. Scherger will become Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective November 10, 2025. Scherger brings more than 30 years of finance, operations and strategy experience in the packaging industry, most recently serving as CFO of Graphic Packaging where he helped double net sales to nearly $9 billion and triple net income. Michael Casamento, who has served as Amcor’s CFO for ten years, will leave the company to return to Australia and will remain in an advisory capacity until June 30, 2026. Casamento’s tenure included leading the integration of the Berry Global acquisition and driving cost‑control initiatives that supported margin expansion. The appointment of Scherger is significant for investors because it preserves continuity in financial leadership during the post‑merger integration period and reinforces Amcor’s commitment to its fiscal 2026 outlook. The company reaffirmed its first‑quarter and full‑year 2026 guidance, projecting adjusted EPS of 80‑83 cents and free cash flow of $1.8‑1.9 billion, while emphasizing the role of the new CFO in executing the identified synergies and sustaining long‑term value creation.
