Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Limited (AOSL) today announced the release of its AOZ17517QI series, a 60A eFuse in a compact 5mm x 5mm QFN package. This new eFuse product series is optimized for 12V power rails in servers, data centers, and telecom infrastructure, meeting high-reliability requirements for input bus protection. The AOZ17517QI series is constructed with AOSL’s advanced co-packaging technology, combining a high-performance IC with protection features and the company’s latest high SOA Trench MOSFET. The MOSFET offers a low R DS(ON) of 0.65mohm, which isolates the load from the input bus when the eFuse is off. These devices integrate accurate analog current and voltage monitoring signals and can be used in parallel for higher current applications, distributing current seamlessly during startup. The AOZ17517QI also features startup SOA management and other protections, enabling streamlined system power-up or hot-plugging. Unit prices start at $1.8 in 1,000-unit quantities, with a lead time of 14 weeks.
