authID Inc. announced on December 23, 2024, its membership in the Accountable Digital Identity Association (ADIA). ADIA is an open industry association focused on developing a standardized, interoperable framework for decentralized identity services. This membership positions authID to champion global standards for digital credentials and biometric authentication. As a member, authID will support the continued development of ADIA’s interoperability, trust, privacy, and accountability specification. This framework is designed to accelerate the adoption of digital identities by companies and consumers, safeguarding data and preventing digital fraud. The global market for shareable or reusable identity is projected to grow from $32.8 billion in 2022 to $266.5 billion by 2027. Tom Szoke, founder and CTO of authID, stated that ADIA’s specification will shape the industry’s future by driving decentralized, digital identities, aligning with authID’s privacy-driven approach. Erick Soto, Chief Product Officer, added that joining ADIA is a pivotal step for authID to advance reusable digital identities and verifiable credentials within a privacy-first framework.
