Axon announced it was awarded a federal government contract to supply the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) with Axon Body 4 body-worn cameras and its digital evidence management system, Axon Evidence. This contract follows a competitive procurement process led by Public Services and Procurement Canada. The opportunity to support the RCMP marks a significant international milestone for Axon.
The deployment will equip more than 10,000 RCMP frontline contract and federal police officers across Canada's rural, urban, and remote locations with Axon Body 4 cameras. In addition to the cameras, the RCMP will deploy Axon Evidence across its service for secure storage, management, and sharing of evidentiary data.
The Axon Ecosystem ensures seamless integration, with Axon Body 4 automatically uploading video to a secure cloud environment that maintains a strict chain of custody. Axon Evidence leverages AI-powered tools and advanced technologies to quickly locate, transcribe, and redact critical footage, enhancing operational efficiency for officers.
