AXT, Inc. announced that its China-based subsidiary, Beijing Tongmei Xtal Technology Co., Ltd. (Tongmei), received its first export control permits for indium phosphide from China. This development occurred late in the second quarter of 2025.

The receipt of these permits is a critical step in navigating the new China export controls on indium phosphide, which had previously caused significant delays and impacted AXT's ability to ship InP substrates to customers outside of China. This allows for the resumption of international InP sales.

This approval enables Tongmei to begin shipping initial orders of indium phosphide substrates to its global customer base. The ability to export InP is crucial for AXT, as it is a major supplier of this material for high-performance applications like high-speed optical interconnects.
