On Oct 13 2025, Boeing and Leonardo announced a partnership to pursue the U.S. Army’s Flight School Next contractor‑owned, contractor‑operated (COCO) service contract. The partnership combines Boeing’s operational experience with Army rotary‑wing training and Leonardo’s AW119T training helicopter. The collaboration will deliver a scalable, efficient training solution for the next generation of Army aviators. Boeing brings its expertise in training services, mission‑systems support for the AH‑64 Apache, and simulation capabilities, while Leonardo provides the AW119T helicopter, which has accumulated over 100,000 flight hours and 16,000 instrument‑flight hours. Together, they aim to increase flight‑training hours, improve proficiency, and reduce operational costs. Securing this COCO contract expands Boeing’s defense services portfolio and provides a new revenue stream in the Army training market. The partnership also strengthens Boeing’s position in the U.S. defense sector and demonstrates its ability to collaborate with leading European partners to deliver integrated solutions.
