Banc of California Appoints Karen Hon as Chief Accounting Officer

Banc of California, Inc. announced on March 4, 2025, that Karen Hon has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. In this role, Ms. Hon will oversee all accounting, controllership, and financial reporting functions, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. She is also a member of the company’s senior management committee. Ms. Hon reports directly to Joe Kauder, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. She brings over 20 years of finance and accounting experience, including 17 years at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), where she most recently served as Chief Accounting Officer. Her expertise includes leading accounting and reporting teams, overseeing the SOX program, and managing data and technology initiatives for financial and regulatory reporting. Karen Hon replaces Jeff Krumpoch, who is retiring on April 1, 2025, after 23 years of service with Banc of California and PacWest Bancorp. The appointment of Ms. Hon is expected to drive operational excellence and enhance processes, systems, and technology across the bank.
