BARK announced an expansion of its BARK Air service, the world’s first air travel experience designed specifically for dogs and their parents. Through a partnership with direct air carrier Air Wisconsin, BARK Air will deploy CRJ-200 aircraft to significantly increase capacity. These larger planes will accommodate at least double the number of dogs per flight. The expansion includes the introduction of trial flights with fares under $1,000, making dog-friendly air travel more affordable. These new flights will operate between New York City and Miami/Fort Lauderdale, with bookings available for flights taking off in February 2025. This route was selected based on consumer demand for winter getaways. Matt Meeker, Co-Founder and CEO of BARK, stated that this step forward allows BARK Air to serve more passengers while reducing prices. The company aims to maintain its signature 'white paw' service, which launched in May 2024 with routes to destinations including Los Angeles, New York, London, and Paris. This strategic move is expected to scale the service and enhance its market reach.
