Boise Cascade Company reported net income of $62.0 million, or $1.64 per share, on sales of $1.74 billion for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025. This represents a decrease from net income of $112.3 million, or $2.84 per share, on sales of $1.80 billion for the same period in 2024. The Wood Products segment's sales, including intersegment transfers, decreased 9% to $447.2 million, with segment income plummeting 81% to $14.0 million. This was primarily due to lower EWP and plywood sales prices, lower plywood sales volumes, and higher per-unit conversion costs from planned downtime for the Oakdale mill modernization, which was substantially completed in Q2 2025. The Building Materials Distribution (BMD) segment saw sales decrease 2% to $1,614.9 million, and segment income decreased 9% to $78.0 million. This was driven by increased selling and distribution expenses, partially offset by a $3.4 million increase in gross margin from general line products. For Q3 2025, Wood Products EBITDA is projected between $20 million and $30 million, and BMD EBITDA is guided between $70 million and $80 million, with EWP volumes expected to decline high single digits sequentially.
