The sale does not include the Le Sieur brand in Canada. Casey Keller, President and CEO of B&G Foods, stated that the Le Sueur brand has performed well and is expected to thrive under McCall Farms' ownership.
B&G Foods intends to use the proceeds from this sale for general corporate purposes, including the repayment of long-term debt and the purchase of assets useful in its business. This move further supports the company's strategy to reduce its substantial debt load.
