Baker Hughes and PETRONAS Collaborate on Asia-Pacific Energy Expansion, Baker Hughes to Expand Malaysia Repair Facility

Baker Hughes and Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) announced on July 14, 2025, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a strategic partnership to explore business initiatives supporting Asia's energy expansion and transition. This collaboration aims to enhance local supply chain capabilities and implement various technology solutions. In support of these initiatives, Baker Hughes plans to expand its existing services footprint in Malaysia to develop a full aeroderivative gas turbine module repair services facility. This facility will include disassembly, assembling, grinding, and testing capabilities, providing enhanced service to customers across the region. With an installed base of over 600 gas turbines and expected continued growth, these augmented service capabilities will accelerate service turnaround time and ensure best-in-class reliability. This partnership builds on a longstanding relationship between Baker Hughes and PETRONAS, which began in 1975.
