Baker Hughes announced on February 5, 2025, three new electrification technologies designed to enhance reliability, increase efficiency, and reduce emissions for onshore and offshore operations. These innovations were unveiled at the company's 25th Annual Meeting in Florence, Italy. The new offerings include the Hummingbird™ all-electric land cementing unit, an industry-first 100% electric solution that replaces diesel engines with grid-connected or battery-powered motors. Also introduced were SureCONTROL™ Plus interval control valves (ICV) for electrical remote operations in zonal control, and a new all-electric subsea production system, completing the industry's first fully electric topside-to-downhole solution. These technologies have implications for both traditional oil and gas and new energy applications. The all-electric subsea system, for instance, is designed for shallow and deep-water developments, making it suitable for subsea carbon capture, utilization, and storage fields, as well as long offset tieback applications.
