LeoStella, a joint venture between Thales Alenia Space and BlackSky, was selected by the Space Development Agency (SDA) to support the Hybrid Acquisition for Proliferated Low-Earth Orbit (HALO) program. This selection pre-qualifies LeoStella to work directly with SDA to develop on-orbit mission-feasibility prototypes. This innovative program allows the government to engage with industry for rapid on-orbit mission feasibility prototypes. The award enables LeoStella and BlackSky to compete for upcoming Tranche 3 SDA opportunities. The selection leverages LeoStella's experience with over 20 satellites and BlackSky's real-time space-based monitoring capabilities. This strategic positioning enhances BlackSky's potential for future government contracts and validates its vertically integrated satellite production capabilities.
