Brookfield Asset Management and Bloom Energy announced a strategic partnership involving an investment of up to $5 billion by Brookfield in Bloom Energy's fuel cell technology. This collaboration aims to power artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, marking the first investment in Brookfield's dedicated AI infrastructure strategy.

The partnership will focus on designing and building 'AI factories' globally, with a site in Europe expected to be unveiled before the end of the year. Bloom's fuel cells are 'fuel-flexible,' capable of running on natural gas, biogas, or hydrogen, providing scalable and carbon-free energy solutions critical for energy-intensive AI demands.

This initiative addresses the accelerating global electricity demand driven by the AI revolution, offering on-site power solutions that do not rely on the traditional electric grid. Brookfield's global head of AI infrastructure, Sikander Rashid, emphasized that AI infrastructure must be built with purpose, speed, and scale, which this partnership aims to deliver.
