Hitachi Energy has taken a minority stake in Shermco, a North American electrical services provider, as part of a strategic partnership with Blackstone Energy Transition Partners.
The partnership combines Hitachi’s electrification technology and digital solutions with Shermco’s network of more than 40 service centers staffed by over 600 technicians and 200 engineers, creating a leading service partner for power infrastructure across the United States and Canada.
Shermco was acquired by Blackstone in August 2025 for approximately $1.6 billion, and the new partnership expands Blackstone Energy Transition Partners’ service portfolio and positions it to capture growth in electrification and data‑center markets.
Hitachi Energy is investing over $1 billion globally in its service business, including the launch of the HMAX Energy digital platform and training of more than 5,000 service experts worldwide.
The collaboration is expected to enhance service capacity, improve reliability and safety of power infrastructure, and support Blackstone’s strategy to invest in high‑growth infrastructure assets amid accelerating demand for reliable, safe, and efficient power.
The deal aligns with industry trends of electrification, aging grid infrastructure, and the rapid expansion of data centers, which together drive demand for reliable, safe, and efficient power delivery.
