ChargePoint announced a partnership with Loyola Marymount University to expand the university’s electric‑vehicle charging network, adding new chargers across campus, upgrading to the next‑generation ChargePoint Platform, and installing on‑site Safeguard Care inspections to maintain high uptime.

The deal builds on ChargePoint’s strategy to scale through campus deployments, adding a sizable institutional customer. LMU will install additional chargers, upgrade its software platform, and receive regular Safeguard Care inspections, reinforcing ChargePoint’s commitment to reliable, data‑driven operations.

While the financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the partnership underscores ChargePoint’s ability to secure large institutional contracts. The deal comes as ChargePoint reports Q3 fiscal year 2026 revenue of $105.7 million, up 6% year‑over‑year, with a GAAP gross margin of 31% and a non‑GAAP gross margin of 33%, reflecting improved profitability.

ChargePoint has been working to strengthen its balance sheet, reducing debt by $172 million in November 2025, and operates a global network of over 1.3 million charging ports. The Safeguard Care service, launched in July 2025, and the new platform released in November 2025, provide data‑driven operations and uptime guarantees that appeal to institutional clients.

CEO Rick Wilmer said the partnership demonstrates ChargePoint’s “industry‑leading hardware, software, and services” that enable campuses to deliver a world‑class charging experience. The deal positions ChargePoint against competitors such as Blink Charging, EVgo, and Electrify America, reinforcing its competitive edge in the campus and commercial segment.

The partnership is part of ChargePoint’s broader strategy to grow its network through large‑scale deployments, which has helped the company maintain a strong market presence despite a 65% year‑to‑date decline in stock price and a challenging competitive landscape.
