Hexagon Agility announced new orders valued at $4.3 million for its renewable natural gas (RNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems. These systems are specifically for trucks powered by Cummins' X15N natural gas engine, designed for the North American heavy-duty commercial truck market.
The orders include commitments from over 30 leading Class 8 fleets, with 40% representing new adopters of RNG/CNG technology. This indicates a growing market embrace of the X15N engine, which offers diesel-like performance in power and range, capable of up to 1,200 miles.
The X15N engine is designed to meet stringent EPA and CARB regulations for 2024 and 2027, expanding the addressable market for RNG/CNG solutions by 230,000 heavy-duty trucks annually. This development supports Cummins' strategy to provide cleaner power solutions while maintaining performance.
