Coherent Corp. announced the launch of its EDGE FL™ high-power fiber laser series, specifically designed for cutting applications in the machine tool industry. This new platform is available with power levels ranging from 1.5 kW to 20 kW.
The EDGE FL series aims to redefine the balance between value and performance, targeting the increasing demand for high-power and reliable laser sources in fiber laser cutting. Coherent designed this laser from the ground up for machine tool manufacturers seeking both reliability and affordability.
Martin Seifert, Vice President of the High-Power Fiber Laser Business Unit, highlighted that this new platform is possible due to Coherent's deep expertise in essential fiber laser components and its position as the world's largest diode pump chip supplier. The company is also launching EDGE CUT packages, integrating these lasers with bespoke cutting heads.
