Coherent Corp. announced its collaboration with NVIDIA on silicon photonics networking switches using co-packaged optics (CPO), a development unveiled at GTC. This ecosystem collaboration is expected to enable AI factories to connect millions of GPUs.
Jim Anderson, CEO of Coherent, stated that the company is pleased to be NVIDIA’s collaborator on this new transceiver form factor and expects CPO to further accelerate the expansion of optical networking in the datacenter.
