CommScope announced on March 24, 2025, the sale of its vCCAP Evo Virtual Converged Cable Access Platform to Vidanet, a cable, Internet, and voice services provider in Hungary. This deployment supports Vidanet’s transition to a Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) network.
The sale also includes CommScope’s E6000r High Density and E6000r Remote PHY (R-PHY) shelves. The vCCAP Evo solution will serve as the main management component, enabling Vidanet to move DOCSIS signal generation from hardware to R-PHY shelves.
This virtualization allows for quicker and more efficient introduction of new network services, with centralized, automated provisioning and monitoring. The solution is also noted for using significantly less power than hardware-based cores, offering cost-effectiveness and environmental benefits for Vidanet.
