CommScope announced on May 22, 2025, that Wyre, an infrastructure company in Belgium, selected CommScope’s cloud-native vCCAP Evo solution for Remote PHY (R-PHY) deployments. This solution will serve as the foundation for Wyre’s next-generation broadband access network.
Wyre, a joint venture between Telenet and Fluvius, made the selection after completing lab trials and initiating field trials. These trials demonstrated how the vCCAP Evo solution, combined with CommScope’s Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) solutions, can significantly improve user experience by delivering high-speed, low-latency data, video, and voice.
This collaboration is a core part of Wyre’s strategy to expand broadband capacity and build a scalable, efficient, cloud-native, software-based network. The vCCAP Evo solution is expected to be key in Wyre’s advancement toward 10G networks, offering superior performance, lower latency, and greater energy efficiency.
