Chesapeake Utilities Corporation officially completed the commissioning of its renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at Full Circle Dairy (FCD) in Lee, Florida, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 28, 2024. This innovative facility represents a full-scale dairy manure-to-pipeline-quality RNG operation.
The project involved a capital investment of $22 million and is expected to produce an average of 100,000 dekatherms annually. Production of RNG at the facility commenced in June 2024, contributing to the company's sustainable energy portfolio.
The Full Circle Dairy RNG facility is projected to capture and redirect more than 1,100 metric tons of methane per year into a renewable energy source. This emission reduction is equivalent to powering 3,500 homes for a year, highlighting the environmental benefits and strategic execution across the energy delivery value chain.
