Cisco and UAE AI leader G42 have expanded their partnership to build a secure, end‑to‑end AI infrastructure in the UAE, deploying a large‑scale AI cluster that will feature AMD Instinct MI350X GPUs and Cisco UCS 885A servers.
The cluster will support the 1 GW Stargate UAE project and the 5 GW UAE‑US AI technology campus, both part of the US‑UAE AI Acceleration Partnership announced in May 2025.
Cisco will act as the technology integrator within G42’s Regulated Technology Environment (RTE), a gold‑standard compliance framework that ensures advanced compute infrastructure operates with the highest levels of protection, transparency, and governance. The deployment is subject to final U.S. and UAE regulatory licenses and approvals.
The solution leverages Cisco’s end‑to‑end AI‑ready data center portfolio, including Nexus 9K 800G switches, Firepower 4200 next‑generation firewalls, Nexus Dashboard, and Intersight for automation and compute management. Cisco will also provide VAST AI operating system hosting on UCS servers to enable efficient workload scheduling.
Cisco’s advanced services team will deliver planning, design, and implementation support, while executive statements from Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins and G42 Group CEO Peng Xiao highlighted the partnership’s role in advancing sovereign AI capabilities in the region.
The expansion follows a prior collaboration that began in 2023, during which Cisco supplied networking and security solutions for G42’s initial AI research facilities. The new agreement is expected to generate significant revenue opportunities and reinforce Cisco’s competitive position in the AI infrastructure market.
Cisco research indicates that 92% of UAE organizations plan to deploy AI agents, but only 25% currently have robust GPU capacity, a gap the new partnership aims to address.
