CSX Corporation announced on March 25, 2025, that it has secured a new five-year tentative collective bargaining agreement with the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS). This agreement covers approximately 1,215 signalmen within CSX's workforce.
The tentative agreement, which is subject to ratification by the union’s membership, reflects a shared commitment to safety, respect, and operational excellence. It aims to ensure greater efficiency and service for CSX customers as the company moves forward as 'ONE CSX'.
The terms of the agreement are aligned with other labor deals, providing equivalent packages of improved wages, health care, and paid time off benefits. To date, CSX has reached agreements with 11 labor unions, covering 14 different work groups, accounting for 47% of its unionized workforce.
