DigitalBridge Group, Inc. and Korea’s KT Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, and the partnership was announced on November 26. The agreement sets the stage for a joint effort to develop next‑generation AI data centers that could scale to gigawatt‑level facilities and require multi‑billion‑dollar investments.
DigitalBridge manages roughly $108 billion in digital infrastructure assets worldwide as of September 2025 and recently closed its DigitalBridge Partners III fund, securing $11.7 billion in commitments, including $4.5 billion in LP co‑investment commitments. Portfolio companies are investing more than $40 billion in AI and cloud infrastructure across North America and $1.6 billion in Asia‑Pacific, including a 300 MW+ hyperscale campus in Johor, Malaysia.
South Korea is emerging as a leading AI hub in the Asia‑Pacific region. The AI data center market in Korea is projected to reach $1.809 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 36.5% from 2025 to 2030. The partnership positions DigitalBridge and KT to capture a share of this rapidly expanding market, leveraging Korea’s advanced connectivity, supportive policy environment, and high‑tech talent pool.
The MOU marks DigitalBridge’s first collaboration with a major Korean telecom and signals a strategic push into Asia. Both companies emphasize ESG considerations, with DigitalBridge bringing its experience in energy‑efficient, high‑density data center design and KT contributing its nationwide high‑speed network and proven data center operations. The joint venture is expected to accelerate AI deployments for global technology enterprises and strengthen KT’s transition to an AI‑centric enterprise (AICT).
Marc Ganzi, CEO of DigitalBridge, said the partnership reflects the firm’s commitment to building AI‑optimized infrastructure in high‑growth markets. “Korea’s strong connectivity ecosystem, technology leadership, and policy support make it an ideal market for AI‑era investment,” he noted. Ahn Tae‑eun of DigitalBridge added that the collaboration will help meet the growing AI demand from global enterprises across Asia‑Pacific, while Jeong Woo‑jin of KT highlighted the opportunity to deliver optimized services tailored to customer needs.
The agreement is expected to unlock new revenue streams for DigitalBridge’s portfolio companies and provide KT with advanced AI data center capabilities, positioning both firms to benefit from the projected surge in AI workloads and the broader shift toward cloud‑native, AI‑driven services.
