DuPont de Nemours announced the launch of Tyvek® APX on November 4, 2025 at the A+A 2025 trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany. The new disposable chemical garment fabric is engineered to deliver breathability without compromising the protection and durability that the Tyvek brand is known for.

Independent testing by the Swiss research institute Empa confirmed the fabric’s superior breathability, and over 300 wear trials across multiple regions showed that users preferred the enhanced comfort of Tyvek® APX. The trials also verified that the material meets all relevant chemical‑protection standards, ensuring that workers can stay cool while remaining protected.

The global disposable protective clothing market is projected to reach $2.6 billion by 2024 and grow at a 6.5% CAGR, while the broader protective‑clothing market is expected to expand to $25.7 billion by 2035. DuPont targets high‑growth sectors such as pharmaceuticals, utilities, and heavy manufacturing, where worker comfort is a critical concern.

Tyvek® APX differentiates itself from competitors like 3M and Honeywell by combining the proven protection of Tyvek with a breathable construction that has not been offered in the disposable garment space. Pricing and availability details have not yet been disclosed, but the product is positioned to capture market share in environments where overheating and heat‑related fatigue are significant operational risks.

The launch aligns with DuPont’s broader strategy of delivering high‑performance, differentiated materials across its key markets. It also complements the company’s ongoing separations of its electronics and water businesses, which are expected to enhance shareholder value. While the company continues to face material risks from PFAS litigation, the introduction of Tyvek® APX represents a proactive step toward meeting evolving safety regulations and worker‑wellness expectations.

DuPont’s Q3 2025 earnings release is scheduled for November 6, 2025. While the company has not yet reported those results, the Tyvek® APX launch is part of the product portfolio that could influence future earnings and market positioning.
