Datadog, Inc. announced on December 2, 2024, that its Database Monitoring product now includes support for MongoDB databases. This expansion means Datadog's platform now observes the five most popular database types, which also include Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle. The enhanced Database Monitoring enables application developers and database administrators to troubleshoot and optimize inefficient queries across diverse database environments. Users can easily understand database load, pinpoint long-running and blocking queries, and drill into execution details to optimize performance. Omri Sass, Director of Product Management at Datadog, highlighted the importance of maintaining high availability across clusters with multiple nodes and replicas. The new MongoDB support is generally available and aims to help joint customers maximize performance by optimizing deployment and infrastructure allocation.
