DocuSign has integrated its Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) platform into ChatGPT through the Model Context Protocol, allowing users to draft, review, and sign contracts directly within the chat interface without leaving the conversation.
The move is part of DocuSign’s broader AI strategy, following the launch of IAM in April 2024. It positions IAM as a new system of record for agreements and accelerates the adoption of AI‑driven contract management across enterprises.
DocuSign serves more than 1.7 million customers worldwide and manages over one billion agreements annually. The partnership with OpenAI expands DocuSign’s reach into the AI assistant ecosystem and could drive new usage among its existing customer base and new prospects.
The integration comes as DocuSign reports strong financial performance, with Q2 Fiscal 2026 revenue of $801 million, up 9% year‑over‑year, and billings of $818 million, up 13% year‑over‑year. Gross profit margin remains at 79.5% and net income margin at 9.1%.
Industry analysts note that the integration places DocuSign in direct competition with other AI‑powered contract platforms, including OpenAI’s own contract analysis tools. The partnership demonstrates DocuSign’s commitment to open standards and integration with major AI platforms.
