Diana Shipping Extends Semirio Charter and Secures New Maera Charter

Diana Shipping Inc. announced today, October 22 2025, that it has extended the time charter contract for its Capesize dry bulk vessel m/v Semirio with Solebay Shipping Cape Company Limited. The new gross charter rate is $21,650 per day, up from $16,650, and the contract will commence on March 15 2026, with a minimum period ending January 31 2027 and a maximum period ending April 15 2027.

The company also entered into a new time charter contract for its Panamax vessel m/v Maera with CRC Shipping Pte. Ltd. The gross charter rate is $11,750 per day, effective November 2 2025, with a minimum period ending October 20 2026 and a maximum period ending December 20 2026.

The combined minimum scheduled period of the two charters is expected to generate approximately $10.93 million in gross revenue. The m/v Semirio is a 174,261 dwt Capesize vessel built in 2007, while the m/v Maera is a 75,403 dwt Panamax vessel built in 2013. These contracts strengthen DSX’s earnings visibility and support its disciplined chartering strategy.
