Entergy Corporation announced that Marcus Brown, its executive vice president and general counsel, will retire in spring 2026, effective December 1, 2025, when he will transition to the role of Executive Legal Advisor to Chair and CEO Drew Marsh.

Brown has spent nearly four decades at Entergy, steering the company’s legal, regulatory and compliance functions. He chaired the 2025 New Orleans Super Bowl LIX Host Committee, led the “Power of Prosperity” program—a 10‑year, $20 million commitment to HBCUs—and helped establish one of the first Fortune 500 in‑house pro‑bono teams in 2018. In 2020, the Financial Times named him one of the world’s top in‑house general counsels.

Dan Falstad, currently vice president, deputy general counsel and corporate secretary, will become senior vice president and general counsel. Falstad joined Entergy in 2009 and brings expertise in securities law, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions; he will oversee the legal department and the ethics and compliance organization while continuing as corporate secretary.

John Hudson, senior vice president and chief external affairs officer, will assume the chief security officer role. Hudson joined Entergy in April 2022 and has led federal policy, regulatory and government affairs, social responsibility, sustainability and environmental policy; he will now report directly to CEO Drew Marsh.

The succession plan underscores Entergy’s commitment to robust governance and continuity amid a complex regulatory environment. Brown’s advisory role will support CEO Drew Marsh, ensuring strategic alignment as the company navigates evolving regulatory challenges.

CEO Drew Marsh said, "Marcus has been a visionary leader and strategic advisor, and his contributions have helped us capture a once‑in‑a‑lifetime growth opportunity that will benefit our customers, communities and all stakeholders for generations to come."

Entergy serves approximately 3 million utility customers across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, and the leadership transition maintains stability in its legal and compliance functions as the company continues to grow and adapt to regulatory changes.
