On Oct 2, 2025, Entergy Arkansas announced it will power Google’s planned $4 billion technology investment in Arkansas, including a new data center in West Memphis. The announcement was made at a joint community celebration with state and local leaders. Google will cover full energy costs, contributing over $1.1 billion in net benefits over the contract life and helping reduce rates for all Entergy Arkansas customers.
The project will be powered by Entergy Arkansas’s existing generation and transmission assets, supplemented by a new 600‑MW solar plant and a 350‑MW battery storage system in Jefferson County. Google will pay rates that cover the cost of this resource, and Entergy has filed the resource for approval with the Arkansas Public Service Commission.
Entergy Arkansas President and CEO Laura Landreaux highlighted the partnership’s economic impact, noting that the $4 billion investment and a $25 million Energy Impact Fund will support home weatherization, energy efficiency technology, and workforce development in Crittenden County. The deal underscores Entergy’s strategy to attract large industrial customers and strengthen grid reliability while maintaining affordable rates.
