Ford is recalling 227,006 vehicles in the United States because certain windshields contain air bubbles, some vehicles have inoperative defrosting and defogging systems, and others have loose seat frames. The recall covers a broad range of Ford and Lincoln models, including the F‑Series trucks, Explorer, Expedition, Navigator, and various Lincoln SUVs.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has approved the recall, and dealers will replace or repair the affected parts at no cost to owners. The remedy includes installing new windshield glass, repairing defrosting and defogging systems, and securing seat frames.

The recall is part of a record‑breaking year for Ford, which issued 89 recalls in the first six months of 2025, the highest number for any manufacturer in a full calendar year. The company’s recent Q3 2025 earnings report showed record revenue of $50.5 billion and net income of $2.4 billion, but the recall adds to ongoing quality‑control scrutiny.

Ford’s management has emphasized a strategy focused on cost discipline, quality improvements, and strengthening its commercial vehicle segment. The company’s EV division continues to post losses, and a fire at a Novelis aluminum plant has impacted production, prompting a downward revision of full‑year adjusted EBIT guidance to $6 billion–$6.5 billion.
