FutureFuel Corp. (NYSE: FF) announced today the startup of a new specialty chemical production investment at its Batesville, Arkansas facility. The investment will enable the company to vertically integrate a key raw material used on‑site and will increase production volume throughout Q4 2025, with the new capacity expected to contribute more significantly to sales beginning in Q1 2026.

In its biodiesel segment, FutureFuel said that it had idled production since June 2025 due to regulatory uncertainty and high input costs. The company now reports greater clarity on the IRA 45Z clean‑fuel production credit and a slight improvement in the soybean input market, and it is optimistic that it can procure the necessary inputs to restart biodiesel production sometime in Q4 2025.

FutureFuel also announced that it will close its remote headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, and consolidate all corporate activities and key personnel at its Batesville production facility. This move is intended to streamline operations and focus resources on the company’s core production, technology, and administrative functions.

These combined actions—expanding specialty chemical capacity, planning a biodiesel restart, and consolidating headquarters—represent significant operational and strategic shifts that are likely to influence FutureFuel’s cost structure, production efficiency, and future revenue streams.
