Shift4 Payments announced a partnership with the Ottawa Senators to power all food and beverage concessions at the Canadian Tire Centre, marking the company’s first professional sports venue in Canada and expanding its presence into the Canadian market.

The agreement will deploy Shift4’s integrated commerce platform, which combines point‑of‑sale hardware, mobile ordering, contactless payment processing and real‑time analytics. The platform is designed to streamline fan transactions, reduce wait times, and provide the Senators with detailed sales data to optimize inventory and staffing.

While the partnership is expected to generate additional transaction volume, Shift4 has not disclosed specific financial figures. The deal represents a strategic foothold in a new geographic market and positions the company to pursue further opportunities across Canadian sports and entertainment venues.

Michael Isaacman, Shift4’s Chief Commercial Officer, said the partnership “reinforces our commitment to delivering world‑class commerce experiences across major sports and entertainment properties.” Senators VP of business operations Chris Phillips added that the new system will “modernize the concession experience, delivering faster transactions and more flexible payment options for fans.”

The announcement did not trigger a significant market reaction, but it aligns with Shift4’s broader expansion strategy and places the company in direct competition with other payment processors operating in Canadian sports venues.
