Globant S.A. has extended its partnership with FIFA, taking on a broader role that includes enhancing the world governing body’s digital platforms and building a new mobile application for fans of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 Women’s World Cup. The deal builds on a four‑year collaboration that began in 2022 and positions Globant as a Tournament Supporter in North America and Europe for both tournaments, which will be hosted by Canada, Mexico, the United States (2026) and Brazil (2027).

The expansion also covers support for the December 2025 FIFAe Finals in Riyadh and the 2027 U‑20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, underscoring Globant’s growing footprint in major global sporting events. By delivering AI‑powered digital experiences, the partnership aligns with Globant’s strategy to monetize its AI platform and deepen customer engagement across its service portfolio.

Globant’s latest earnings report for the third quarter of 2025 showed revenue of $617.1 million, a modest 0.4 % year‑over‑year increase driven by a 1.2 % rise in its core digital services segment. However, diluted earnings per share fell to $0.73 from $0.98 a year earlier, reflecting margin compression in the AI‑enabled services line and higher operating expenses associated with the new FIFA partnership. The company’s gross profit margin slipped to 34.8 % from 36.2 % in the prior year, while its non‑IFRS adjusted operating margin narrowed to 15.5 % from 15.6 %.

Management explained that the EPS decline is largely attributable to investment in the FIFA partnership and broader AI initiatives, which require upfront costs that are expected to pay off in the long term. CEO Martin Migoya noted that “technology can amplify the power of sport,” highlighting the strategic importance of the partnership for expanding Globant’s AI‑driven fan engagement solutions. The company’s guidance for the fourth quarter projects revenue of $605 million and a non‑IFRS EPS of $1.53, indicating confidence in maintaining profitability despite short‑term headwinds.

The partnership’s timing is significant because the 2026 World Cup will be the largest standalone sporting event in history, and the 2027 Women’s World Cup will be the first held in South America. By securing a role in these events, Globant positions itself to capture a large, global fan base and to showcase its AI‑enhanced digital platform, potentially driving future revenue growth in its high‑margin services segment.

The deal also reinforces Globant’s competitive position in the sports technology sector, where it competes with firms such as SAP and Oracle. While the company’s EPS has slipped, the partnership signals a strategic pivot toward high‑growth, high‑margin opportunities that could offset current margin pressures and support long‑term shareholder value.
