Grab has announced a regional partnership with BYD to expand access to up to 50,000 BYD electric vehicles (EVs) for its driver-partners across Southeast Asia. This collaboration aims to accelerate the transition to zero-emission transport by addressing high upfront costs, a key barrier to EV adoption in the region.
Through the partnership, Grab's fleet partners and driver-partners will gain access to BYD vehicles at competitive rates, along with extended warranties on EV batteries. Drivers will have options to rent EVs or receive financing support through Grab's car ownership schemes, making green transportation more accessible.
The partnership spans Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, covering models such as the DENZA D9, BYD ATTO3, BYD SEAL, and BYD M6. Grab intends to integrate the premium DENZA D9 into its GrabExec fleet, aiming to set a new standard in executive transportation focused on convenience, luxury, and sustainability.
