Globalstar, Inc. announced that construction has commenced to expand its ground station in Singapore. This expansion will support its third-generation C-3 mobile satellite system (MSS) and next-generation mobile satellite services across Southeast Asia.
The project involves adding two additional 6-meter tracking antennas to the facility, which has been hosted by Singtel since 2008. This development builds upon a 17-year partnership with Singtel.
L. Barbee Ponder, General Counsel & Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Globalstar, noted that Singapore joins a growing list of countries, including Spain, Japan, Canada, and the United States, where Globalstar is deploying additional antennas. This is part of a sweeping global expansion of approximately 90 new tracking antennas, representing a significant investment in the network's functionality, capacity, and future-proofing.
