Granite Construction has been awarded an approximately $21 million contract by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for pavement rehabilitation on State Route 99 (SR 99) in Tulare, California. The project will address three miles of both northbound and southbound lanes.

The scope of work includes removing existing pavement through cold planing and replacing it with 56,300 tons of hot mix asphalt (HMA), followed by a cap of 7,200 tons of rubberized hot mix asphalt (RHMA). Additionally, thirteen ramps along the corridor will be repaved, and concrete pavement at ten under crossings will be replaced.

Project funding is sourced from federal programs and was included in Granite’s third-quarter Committed and Awarded Projects (CAP). Construction is expected to commence in November 2024 and is projected to conclude in May 2026.
