Hyatt Hotels Corporation celebrated the grand opening of its first Park Hyatt resort in Mexico on December 15, 2025. The event marked the brand’s debut in the country and positioned Hyatt as a key player in the region’s upscale hospitality market.

The 163‑room resort sits within the exclusive Cabo del Sol community on the Baja California Sur coast. It offers 88 suites and three private villas, each featuring plunge pools and panoramic ocean views. Guests can enjoy a full slate of wellness facilities, multiple dining venues, and versatile meeting spaces designed to blend contemporary luxury with the natural landscape.

Hyatt’s entry into Mexico aligns with its broader strategy to grow its luxury portfolio in high‑growth markets. The company has announced plans for additional Park Hyatt locations in Mexico City and Cancun in 2026, underscoring a commitment to an asset‑light model that leverages brand strength while minimizing capital commitments.

The opening comes at a time when Hyatt’s Q3 2025 results showed a net loss of $49 million, driven largely by lower gains on asset sales and one‑time charges. Nevertheless, the quarter recorded a 12.1% increase in net rooms, a 7.0% rise excluding acquisitions, and a 0.3% year‑over‑year lift in system‑wide RevPAR. The new resort is expected to contribute to the company’s long‑term growth trajectory by expanding its luxury footprint and generating additional revenue streams in a market that has proven resilient to broader economic headwinds.

During the opening ceremony, Hyatt’s CEO highlighted the resort’s role in the company’s “asset‑light, brand‑centric” strategy. “Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol exemplifies our commitment to delivering world‑class experiences while expanding our presence in markets that offer strong demand for luxury travel,” he said. The CEO also noted that the resort’s opening is a key milestone in Hyatt’s plan to double its core organic growth rate over the next few years.”
