HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc. (HASI) has closed an aggregate $207 million in project financing with Vision RNG (VRNG) to develop two landfill gas-to-renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities in Ohio. This financing package includes a $130 million construction facility and a $77 million investment tax credit (ITC) bridge loan, showcasing HASI's structuring capabilities in energy transition assets.
The projects are expected to initially produce over 2 million MMBtus of RNG annually, with production projected to double within 11 years, positioning them among the largest RNG developments in the country. This initiative aims to reduce approximately 120,000 tons of fossil-based carbon dioxide emissions annually, equivalent to the CO2 emissions from over 12 million gallons of gasoline.
HASI's investment supports Vision RNG's growth strategy, advancing sustainable energy solutions and contributing to the transition to cleaner energy sources. The partnership with WIN Waste Innovations will transform waste into a valuable renewable resource, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and creating local jobs.
