Himax Technologies, Inc. and Vuzix Corporation announced the joint debut of a next-generation AR optical module at Display Week 2025, held from May 11–16, 2025. The demonstration features Himax’s latest ultra-luminous, miniature Dual-Edge Front-lit LCoS microdisplay.
This microdisplay is seamlessly integrated with Vuzix’ production-ready waveguides, forming a fully integrated module. The solution delivers breakthrough brightness and power efficiency in a compact design, enabling sleek, lightweight AR glasses for enterprise and consumer applications.
This co-design initiative is scheduled for commercial release at the end of 2025, focusing on optimizing optical performance for industry-leading visual quality. The collaboration positions both companies to accelerate the adoption of next-generation AR wearables.
